The HxS pairing puts the hero party from the Hearty Heroes of Hauling on the water of Skipping Stones to Lonely Homes. It is split into three areas: Heroes and Water North, Heroes and Stones East and Heroes and Stones West. Together they hold 38 puzzles plus overworld puzzles. This page covers all three.

Heroes and Stones East puzzle 13, one of two puzzles in that area labelled "Heroes and Water". The druid shares a platform with two stones and a dragon, and wooden walkways circle a pink gate in the water.
Getting there
Start with Heroes Together, the overworld puzzle that opens the room just north of it, then solve the HxS Gold Room.
| Area | Puzzles | Main idea |
|---|---|---|
| Heroes and Water North | 4, plus overworld sections | Dragons and the druid |
| Heroes and Stones East | 14, plus 1 overworld puzzle | Heroes on Skipping Stones water. Puzzles 13 and 14 are labelled Heroes and Water |
| Heroes and Stones West | 20 | The longest HxS set |
Heroes and Water North (4 puzzles)
This area is built around dragons and the druid. Inside the puzzles you mostly play as the druid. Out in the overworld, the Queen gets the druid's power too.
The trick throughout is the druid's ability to turn things into gems, and you use it in two ways:
- Turn a dragon into a gem and it is gone from the puzzle for good.
- Turn something else into a gem and it becomes a block that soaks up dragon fire, so you can walk past safely.
Most solutions come down to choosing which of the two you need, and when. If a dragon keeps killing you, look for something you can turn into a shield in its line of fire before you look at the dragon itself.
How to use the tables: "Starts at" is the point in the solution video embedded lower on the page where that puzzle begins. "Solution length" is how long the finished solution runs in the video, which is a rough guide to how long the puzzle is. Puzzle numbers follow the video's order, which is the order the player solved them in, not a number shown in the game. You can also jump straight to any of these puzzles from the Puzzle Finder.
