Torc Walkthrough (3 Puzzles and the Route to the SxB Gold Room)

Torc walkthrough for Order of the Sinking Star: where Torc is, how the torc turns beams, the order of the three puzzles and the route to the SxB gold room platform.

Torc is the area south of the Vault of the Beamcasters and west of Skipping Stones. It has three puzzles and ends with the route to the SxB gold room platform.

A Torc puzzle: lining the character up to face the right way before turning the beam is most of the work.

How the torc works

All three puzzles use the Torc, a device that turns beams depending on which way you are facing. Most of the work is lining your character up to face the right direction before you turn a beam. The blocks that slide left and right or up and down push you into the corner you need.

Order

  1. Outer section puzzle. Solving the first puzzle on the outer section opens the gate to inner Torc.
  2. Inner Torc. The Queen can use the torc here to change the beam direction inside the rocky area.
  3. Top-right puzzle. Solve it to unlock the beam in the bottom right of the overworld.
  4. Bottom-left puzzle. There is a lot to move around before you can reach it. This is the last of the three.

The route to the SxB gold room

  1. After the last puzzle, turn the beam to face right. It fires all the way over to Skipping Stones.
  2. Step on the golden lily pad.
  3. Walk into the green beam so you can phase through the wall.
  4. Follow the beam back toward its source. It drops you off at the SxB gold room platform.

From there, follow the SxB Gold Room solution.

The individual moves for each of the three puzzles are in the video; the written route above follows the order in which they unlock.
